Hand–colored engraving of this detailed map of Canada, centered on the Great Lakes highlighting the British holdings just ahead of the War of 1812 showing contemporary interests of forts, Native American tribes, commonly traversed rivers, boundary lines, measurements of the Niagara Falls, and various fur trade routes. Includes the fictitious island in Lake Superior which has been separated into English and American sections and Isle Royal appears to be in British control. Handsomely framed and prepared with museum grade materials and UV resistant glass. A FINE IMPRESSION.
