Provenance: Cromwell Whipple, son of Thomas Whipple (contemporary signature on ffep dated June 18th, 1846). FIRST EDITION, EARLY ISSUE with dedication leaf. A collection of sketches of Mexican life and culture including cockfighting, bull fighting, relations with Texas and the possibly annexation of California.
