Stipple–engraved portrait frontispiece of Sir Ralph Abercromby by Meyer after Hoppner, 3 large hand–colored folding maps, 2 folding letterpress tables (some offsetting). Full contemporary speckled calf, upper cover with a central gilt supralibros of George Granville Leveson–Gower (Duke of Sutherland), raised bands, red morocco spine label gilt, compartments tooled in gilt, marbled endpapers (joints a bit tender with some splitting near ends, spine extreme ends worn, corners rubbed). FIRST EDITION of this firsthand account of this expedition to west Egypt under the command of Abercromby.
