Engraved architectural title by Robert Vaughan (faint inscription along outer margin), woodcut initials. Separate title for the “New Testament” with woodcut device. No apocrypha. Early black straight–grain morocco gilt ruled in a Greek key roll, gilt centerpieces and titling in compartments separated with Greek key rolls, all gilt gauffered edges, gilt dentelles (hinges and corners a bit rubbed, 19th century bibliographical notes on ffep verso and front fly, gilt edges worn, marginal browning). Provenance: Robert W. Bingham (bookplate); original bookseller’s ticket. A RARE EDITION with the Psalms 143, 4 corrected (Kilburne noted that “Therefore is my spirit” was wholly omitted in the copies that he had seen). Darlow and Moule 516; Herbert 656; Kilburne 247.
