BURROUGHS, Edgar Rice (1875-1950). Typed document signed (“Edgar Rice Burroughs”) for the publication of “Jungle Tales of Tarzan”. January 27, 1919. 2 pp., rectos only, 4to (330 x 210 mm). Several original typed and hand annotated corrections to document with Burroughs’ initials signed in acknowledgment at outer margin. A contractual agreement between Burroughs and A. C. McClurg for the publication of the manuscript entitled “Jungle Tales of Tarzan”. The book is to be sold at retail for $1.40 and Burroughs is to receive royalties of 15% on the first 25,000 copies sold and 20% upwards of 25,000 copies sold afterwards. A $2,000 advance on royalties was given to the author upon signing of the document. SIGNED BY BURROUGHS and countersigned by the president of A. C. McClurg, Joseph Bray, and two witnesses.
