Provenance: Robert Hoe (1839–1909), notable bibliophile whose collection sold at auction (Anderson Auction Company) in 1911 and 1912 (this copy being sold in lot 2735 on 15 January 1912); gift inscription to Anna from Julia dated 1925 (probably Anna Eugenia La Chapelle, second wife of William A. Clark); this copy last publicly sold by Millea Bros. Ltd. on 15 March 2008 from the estate of Huguette Clark, daughter of William A. Clark.
