Full dark olive morocco framed in gilt, fleuron cornerpieces, raised bands, compartments elaborately tooled in gilt, all edges gilt, stamp–signed by J. Mackenzie “bookbinder to the king” (spines and extreme edges darkened, few minor spots of rubbing along spines). Includes index (“the 44-page index issued some months later is often lacking” Windle & Pippin). Provenance: William Henry Rossington (bookplate).
