Original pictorial printed wrappers in various colors illustrated by Sendak, saddle stitched; original pictorial printed card box with lid (minor rubbing at corners). Titles include: On Your Mark; Jacob’s Friendliest Town; The Crankiest Man on Main Street; Down the Old Bear Trail; Johnny Red Feather; Lonesome Feet; and The Secret. FIRST EDITION of this rare Sendak illustrated set dealing with the “conflicts children face, particularly in regard to bullying and physical violence” (Barry, Rare Books Uncovered, pp. 88–89).
