Sepia–printed frontispiece portrait of Mao. Original red vinyl textured plastic wrappers incised with the title and a red star below. (Covers lightly soiled, some marginal dampstaining, several leaves with underlining and marginalia). FIRST EDITION with the following issue points: FIRST STATE UNCORRECTED ENDORSEMENT LEAF with the superfluous brush stroke occurring in the 2nd vertical line from the right, 2nd character from the top (ting); corrected text on pp. 82–83 (no known priority established); preferred second issue binding succeeding the first printed paper wrappers intended for high-ranking officers by only a few days.
