Ball Vanishing Pedestal. England: Burtini [?], ca. 1950. A wooden ball, balanced atop a tall metal pedestal, vanishes when covered by a tall spun metal cone. The ball may then be made to reappear. Spring-loaded mechanism in lid. Height 9". First example we have encountered. A combination of the Jam Vase (or Marble Vase) and the plunger most commonly associated with the Morison Pill Box, here incorporated into a metal prop of an uncommon form.
