The Mysterious Bran and Candy Trick. Chicago: August Roterberg, ca. 1912. Confetti is scooped into a glass banded with nickel-plated metal, which is then placed on a nickel-plated stand. A handsome spun cover is placed over all; when removed, the confetti has changed into any other object that fits inside the glass. Base hallmarked “A.R. Chicago.” Overall height 12". See Roterberg Catalog 11, no. 130, at page 47 for a complete description of this effect. Items hallmarked by Roterberg are uncommon.
