In original Scurlock folder with embossed credit on mount. Sight 6 ½ x 4 ½”. Folder 11 ¾ x 7 ½”. Together with two photograph postcards of leaders of the United Negro Improvement Association: G.O. Marke (Deputy Potentate) and Rev. Dr. Wilcom Ellegor (High Commissioner General of same group). Ellegor postcard with accents in ink. Rare and early image of Garvey from the studio of Addison Scurlock, the famous photographer of “Black Washington” who also took portraits of figures such as W.E.B. Du Bois and Booker T. Washington.
