[LYNCHING--INDIANA]. Eight photograph glass negatives of troops in Marion, Ind., following the lynching of Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith. 1930. Glass negatives depicting the arrival and presence of guard troops in Marion, Ind., in the days following the lynching of Shipp and Smith. Troops are seen arriving by train and marching the streets of Marion; in one image, men are looking up at a tree, presumably the one from which the victims were hung. Size of each 3 7/8 x 5”. In sleeves stamped 11 August 1930 by the Chicago Herald & Examiner and American. Some with small chips and cracks at edges, but stable.
