[WOMEN’S BASEBALL--PHILADELPHIA]. Twelve early photographs of a women’s baseball game. Philadelphia: H.D. Jones, ca. 1910s. A dozen photographs depicting women baseball players, members of the Fairhill Methodist Episcopal team, including images of at-bats, pitching, fielding, team photos, and others. A contemporary piece of paper the prints were folded in is annotated: “Men vs. women at opening of Belfield Country Club.” In one image, the women hold Fairhill flags; same image annotated in pencil, “Fairhill M.E. Church Baseball Nine.” Generally 4 x 5 ½”. Hand-stamps and pencil notations on versos.
