LANGTRY, Lillie (1853-1929). Handwritten and signed card with original envelope. New York: ca. 1900s. ALS on personal stationery. 127 x 102 mm. Langtry writes, “With many thanks for the pretty potion, Lillie Langtry.” Original envelope included. Lillie Langtry began her theatrical career at the suggestion of her close friend Oscar Wilde in 1881, appearing in an amateur production of A Fair Encounter. Within a year she had created her own production company and made her debut on the American stage, where she proved to be a great success.
