BLESSINGTON, Marguerite Gardiner, Countess of (1789-1849). A group of 7 autographed letters and notes signed by the Countess of Blessington. Circa 1830s. Letters deal mainly with appointments and personal matters. Largest, 178 x 114 mm. Attached note to one of these letters is written in German and signed by Austrian general Julius Jacob von Haynau, also known as the “Hyena of Brescia” for his brutal suppression of insurrectionary movements in Italy and Hungary during the nineteenth century.
