Illuminated leaf from a holy book. Circa 17th century. 8vo. Pen and wash on vellum. Three cherubs surrounded by flowers and columns rest around a legend which reads, “In Nomine / Sanctissimae / et Individuae / TRINITATIS / Patris, et Filii, et / Spiritus Sancti / Amen.” Matted. Framed, 18 ½ x 14”. Provenance: Aleyne FitzHerbert, 1st Baron St. Helens (British, 1753-1839), namesake of Mt. St. Helens in Washington state.
