[JAPANESE]. 15 Japanese Woodcuts. New York: Nisei Progressives, 1952. Unbound as issued group of Japanese woodcuts with images of peasants, workers, and farmers. The Nisei Progressives was a group that grew out of the Nisei for Wallace movement of 1948. They advocated for nuclear disarmament, elimination of housing discrimination, and reparations for prisoners of the Japanese internment camps. Eventually they came into the crosshairs of the FBI due to suspicion of “anti-American activity,” and disbanded shortly after this volume was published. Scarce.
