Half–title, 12 engraved plates (9 of which are hand–colored aquatints after FitzClarence), 5 plans (4 partially colored by hand), 2 maps including one large folding with hand–coloring (offsetting to folding map with small repaired tear near edge, some minor spots or browning to margins, offsetting from plates to text, some evidence of rubberstamp removal to a few leaves). Retrospective half green straight–grain morocco, moiré sides, 6 compartments with 5 raised bands, elephant tooled centerpiece devices gilt in 5 compartments, gilt–titling in remainder, bound by Richard Smart. Provenance: A.F. Borradaile (neat ownership signature on title dated 1878). FIRST EDITION, a first-hand account of an overland journey from India to England, by the eldest son of King Williams IV during the time of the Third Anglo–Maratha War (1817–1818), while also exploring the pyramids of Egypt with Henry Salt and Giovanni Belzoni.
