Contemporary diced calf bordered in alternating palmette and floral tools gilt, 5 compartments with 4 raised bands, compartments gilt, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers (joints rubbed with some separation near feet, Volume I extreme ends rubbed with headband protruding, some staining to covers). Provenance: Marcus A. Stanley Hare (armorial bookplate). FIRST EDITION. Includes an “Account of the Third and last Voyage round the world performed by Captain Cook, between the Years 1776 and 1780”.
