Browne [“Phiz”]. Later half red morocco gilt, spine in 6 compartments with 5 raised bands, gilt–lettered in 2, the remainder gilt–decorated, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers (few tiny dark spots to spine, occasional pale spotting at margins). Provenance: Geoffrey Ecrogh(?), bookplate. FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM published on 14 November 1850, is considered Dickens’s most autobiographical novel which he considered his best work.
