Consisting of 5 letters comprising: 2 autograph letters signed, 2 typed letters signed, and one autograph note signed. Woollcott was a famous theater critic and star of national radio in the early 20th century. He became famous in American literary and drama circles as an author, critic, and actor. Woollcott enjoyed listening to American classical music and would often play it during his broadcasts. One of his favorite American composers was Ethelbert Nevin (1862–1901) who was married to Anne Paul Nevin. In one of his letters to Mrs. Nevin, he writes that he did nothing day in and day out except plate the Nevin record on his Philco. “I have had them for more than a year, but lately all the tunes have taken to running in my head and I have been playing nothing else”.
