Ornate Chinese Style Poker Caddy with Monogrammed Chips (“WIE”). Circa 1920s. Rotating wooden caddy with metal dragon handle, wooden dragon detailing around base, and fourteen different carved and painted vignettes of sailing vessels or junks. “WIE” carved to top of carousel. Chinese inscriptions in the form of coins carved to center, below handle, for “good luck” and “long life.” 20 columns on two tiers holding approximately 480 inlaid clay chips in red, yellow, blue, tan, and black. Caddy diam. 10”. Height 7”. A few of the exterior panels with chipped corners and edges and stress cracks. An impressive set. Collection of Robert Eisenstadt.
