Tarbell Treasure Chest. Los Angeles: F.G. Thayer, ca. 1928. Humpbacked trunk bound in brass with red crackle finish. The lid is lifted and the box tipped forward to show the interior empty. The chest is then righted, and a massive production of livestock and other articles is made from within. With locking mechanism for load chamber incorporated in handle at front of chest. 10 x 11 ½ x 16”. Minor wear to finish and several brass brads lacking, but good condition overall. From the Larson collection. Rare in this large form.
