Charles Willeford is best known as the creator of detective Hoke Moseley, and is an acknowledged influence of such titans of modern crime fiction as Elmore Leonard, James Lee Burke, and Daniel Woodrell; Quentin Tarantino has stated in interviews that Pulp Fiction was directly influenced by Willeford’s literary style.
