Publisher’s printed boards (sunning to spine, toning, partial splits at binding). Second printing of first Dutch edition. Otto Frank created the first transcription of his late daughter’s diary for friends and relatives in Switzerland shortly after his liberation from Auschwitz. With encouragement and aid from these same friends and relatives Frank eventually struck a deal with Contact Publishing in Amsterdam, who published an edited version of the diary with a print run of 3,000 copies in June 1947. Since its original publication the diary of Anne Frank has been translated into 70 languages and is considered to be one of the most significant records of Jewish life during the Holocaust.
