GARLAND, Hamlin (1860–1940). A pair of autograph letters signed (“Hamlin Garland”) to the MacDowell Club of New York, 1922–23. 8vo (279 x 216 mm), on personal stationery, old folds. In these letters, Garland advocates for a potential future member of the club. Hamlin Garland was considered to be a significant figure in the Chicago literary movement; Moccasin Ranch Park in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago is named after one of his novels.
