FIRST EDITION, INSCRIBED BY TOSCANINI TO ANOTHER COMPOSER: “To Boris Koutzen / in rememberance of our Beethoven Circle/ X May 1944, Arturo Toscanini”. Koutzen was a Russian–American violinist composer who was a member of the NBC Symphony Orchestra under Toscanini from 1937 until 1945.
