Original publisher’s light tan buckram decorated in red, top edge gilt, others uncut; original unclipped dust jacket (light chipping near top edge). LIMITED EDITION, one of 950 copies. Ricketts was a respected illustrator, painter, art writer, theater designer, collector and – briefly – publisher: he operated The Vale Press from 1896 to 1904. Among his more noted works as an illustrator are three of Oscar's Wilde's titles and “Daphnis and Chloe” (1893).
