Okito-Nielsen Checker Cabinet and Mandarin Center Table. Las Vegas: Nielsen Magic, 1990s. Classic transposition effect involving a stack of checkers and a short glass tumbler. The items magically travel between one of three compartments in a magnificently decorated temple-like cabinet and a matching decorated cover. Cabinet 20 x 7 x 15”. Maker’s plate to rear. Near fine. Including the separately-sold Mandarin center table also crafted by Nielsen with matching paint scheme. An outstanding example of the craftsmanship and finishing taught to Norm Nielsen by Okito in the late 1950s in Chicago.
