SHOOTING THROUGH A WOMAN. New Haven: Petrie and Lewis (P&L), ca. 1940. The magician levels a rifle at his assistant, who stands in front of a large target. A large bullet with attached ribbon is fired at the assistant. The ribbon and bullet pass through her and hit the target, yet the ribbon is seen running through the assistant and can be pulled back-and-forth through her midsection, even though she is unharmed. The ribbon is then pulled free. Includes darts, gun, target, P&L stand, and gimmick. A handsome outfit. Owned and used by Chautauqua and Lyceum magician John W. Frye.
