[CRANDON, MINA (1888-1941) (“MARGERY”)]. A LARGE GROUP OF BOOKS AND PAMPHLETS RELATING TO MINA CRANDON (“MARGERY”) FROM THE LIBRARY OF HEREWARD CARRINGTON. Circa 1920s/30s. Approximately 11 books and pamphlets, many of them printed by the American Society for Psychical Research and personally owned by noted paranormal investigator Hereward Carrington, all relating to the unique case of Mina Crandon, also known as “Margery.” Provenance: Hereward Carrington (bookplate), Kenneth Klosterman. Carrington was a well-known investigator of psychic phenomena whose first exposure to Mina Crandon came while serving on a committee which included Harry Houdini whose job it was to investigate Crandon’s psychic claims; he was the only member to express belief in her abilities and the two would later engage in a passionate affair.
