INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR, PRESUMABLY TO NOTED BIBLIOPHILE AND FRIEND HOLBROOK JACKSON. Richard Curle made the acquaintance of Joseph Conrad in the 1910s, and over the course of the decade the two would become very close; upon Conrad’s death Curle was made the executor of his estate.
