Contemporary blue straight–grain morocco gilt, raised bands, gilt devices and lettering in compartments, all edges gilt, each concealing FORE–EDGE PAINTINGS of Branch Hill, Hampstead and the Royal Theatre and Athenaeum, Plymouth (recased, joints and corners rubbed). Provenance: Presented by Gladys McKenney Molony to the Saint Mary–of–the–Woods College Library (bookplate and inscription dated 11 November 1969), collector of fore–edge paintings; sold at the Robert Brown Auction in 2007 at the Saint–Mary–of–the–Woods College Library sale.
