One page (292 x 381 mm) manuscript diploma with seal appointing Sir James Chadwick an associate of its Mathematical and Physical Sciences department; includes original envelope. Foxing, creases. The research of Sir James Chadwick, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1935 for his discovery of the neutron three years earlier, was a key figure in the development of the atomic bomb, and was present at the Trinity nuclear test on 16 July 1945.
