CARBE, Nino (Italian-American, 1909-1993). “Robinson Crusoe’s Story”. 1948. Gouache and watercolor. Signed at lower right corner. 17 x 10 ½”. Production notes, some marginal soiling, one piece of tape on right margin, some marginal tape residue, tape on verso. A charming example of this important artist and animator’s work. Carbe worked with many animation studios, including Walt Disney Studios (he worked on Fantasia (1940), and Bambi (1942)). He also worked on dozens of television cartoons, including He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983) and Alvin and the Chipmunks (1988).
