ROBERT-HOUDIN, Emile (1831-1883). Robert-Houdin Mantel Clock. [France, ca. 1860s-1870s]. 19 x 7 x 20”. Enameled iron, brass mantel clock and figures on enameled stone base with brass feet. Black Roman Numeral face, hinged plate glass front door (which does not open). Some wear, tarnishing, rear cover of clock missing. Stamped “E. Robert-Houdin” and “94” on movement, and with “Robert-Houdin” on the clock face. Movement not tested. Son of the famous father of modern magic (with whom he performed in his youth), Emile became a master clockmaker in his own right.
