SELBIT, P. T. (1881-1938). Typed Note Signed to fellow magician, Dante. Signed “P. T. Selbit.” Reading, August 11, 1936. On Selbit’s personal stationery (“Sawing Thro’ a Woman”). 10 x 8”. Some toning, old folds. Selbit wishes Dante success in his tour of England. Very good. Although several magicians have claimed to have invented the modern illusion of “Sawing a Woman in Half,” most magicians acknowledge Selbit as its true inventor.
