WALLER, Thomas “Fats” (b. 1904-1943). Autograph note signed. [N.p., n.d.]. One page from an autograph album on blue paper, written in pencil: “To Betty Treadwell with Best Wishes Yes! Yes! Yes! Latch On? Well Alright Then “Fats” Waller”. Approximately 4 ½ x 6”. Some marginal sunning, some pinholes at left margin, some mild rubbing, a few marginal creases. Very good. “Fats” Waller is a legendary jazz pianist, composer, singer, and entertainer. He was the first African American composer to create a hit Broadway musical for a predominantly white audience (Early to Bed, 1943). He composed and performed a string of hits, including “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “All God’s Chillun Got Wings,” “Basin Street Blues,” and many more. Provenance: The Bo Overlock Collection.
