Illustrated with numerous in text illustrations by Richard Gutschmidt. Uniformly bound in publisher’s black cloth-backed printed boards (some wear, soiling, hinges starting, text generally toned and soiled, the first volume has a tape repair to the front hinge, and several tape repairs to the title-page). Titles include: Späte Rache (translation: A Study in Scarlet - this volume also includes translations of The Boscombe Valley Mystery and another, non-Doyle, story); Der Hund von Baskerville (translation: The Hound of the Baskervilles); Das Zeichen der Vier (translation: The Sign of Four - this volume also includes a translation of A Scandal in Bohemia). An exceedingly rare collection.
