One-page, oblong 12mo, accomplished in manuscript, old folds, docketed with stamp and hand notations with the c/o of AP Watt who was regarded as the first true agent. A customs form for authorization by Doyle to use Williams and Norgate to import seven copies of “The Refugees” published in Leipzig by Bernard Tauchnitz for personal use and one copy each of all titles hereafter. The first UK edition of The Refugees was published that same year by Longmans, Green and Co.
