MARIANI, Angelo (1838-1914). Vin Mariani, Erythroxylon Coca. Its Uses in the Treatment of Disease. Paris and New York: Mariani & Co., [1884].
12mo. Wood-engraving of a coca plant in the text. Original gilt-lettered green cloth (tiny spots of rubbing at extreme ends). Provenance: Medical Society County of Kings Library (rubberstamp on title).
Second edition. “This work, intended for the medical profession, is considerably scarcer than the more popular Coca and Its Therapeutic Application (1892)” (W & V Dailey catalogue note laid in). A rare work indeed: we could only locate 2 copies in institutional holdings (Harvard Medical School Countway Library and New York Academy of Medicine). A Horowitz high spot.
