Early edition first published in 1890 (no copies recorded). Includes chapters on opium smoking, chloral, cocaine, and hashish. The author also advertises his own “Gold Cure for the Opium Habit” at $10.00 for 2 eight-ounce bottles which apparently contained chloride of gold. RARE: no copies reported at auction or listed in the marketplace. A Horowitz high spot.
