8vo. (Some offsetting or browning throughout). Later green cloth. Provenance: William Lloyd Garrison, Boston (ownership signature). Garrison (1805-1879) was an American abolitionist, best known for his widely read anti-slavery newspaper The Liberator which he founded in 1831.

FIRST EDITION of this key work on the various convoluted slave laws as they were enforced in different states and the status of fugitive slaves in free states.
