Photographic print from the original copy in the Collection of Frederick H. Meserve, New York. This was the last photograph of Lincoln taken during his life. The negative was broken and one print only was made from the broken negative, which was destroyed. With Meserve’s typed description note on verso, inscribed by Meserve to Edwin L. Weyer, 3 September 1953.
[With:] a souvenir of the Meeting of the Civil War Round Table of New York, 1 November 1953, housed in a folding blue printed wrapper. Includes 3 photographic prints: one of Meserve (which he signed below), and 2 contact prints from the original glass negatives by Mathew B. Brady of President and Mrs. Lincoln in 1861.
