Provenance: Larry McMurtry (his bookplate, which he designed, features the horseshoe-shaped brand his father and grandfather used on the McMurtry cattle; also with his neat ownership signature dated 1963) from his personal library at his home in Archer City; David U. McDonnell (ownership signature dated 1941).
FIRST EDITION, of this important work of southern American literature. Agee collaborated to craft a fictionalized account of three families by incorporating Evans’ powerful images that focused on impoverished sharecropping families in desolate areas around Alabama.
