Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon has won over 40 awards and was nominated for 10 Academy Awards in 2001, including Best Picture, receiving the most nominations ever for a non-English language film at the time. In 2005, Larry McMurtry and writing partner Diane Ossana, won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for best-adapted screenplay for the film Brokeback Mountain that was directed by Ang Lee who won his first Oscar for Best Director.
