Provenance: Larry McMurtry (his bookplate, which he designed, features the horseshoe-shaped brand his father and grandfather used on the McMurtry cattle), from his personal library at his home in Archer City.
Later printing, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR to Alexander Moore, ambassador to Peru, publisher of the Pittsburgh Leader, and husband to actress Lillian Russell. Loos’ story is about Lorelei Lee, a young flapper, and her exploits in New York City. The work was adapted to film twice: in 1928 as a silent film, and in 1953, in a technicolor film starring Marilyn Monroe.
