8vo (165 x 98 mm). 30 engraved plates (10 plates as called for in part I, plus an additional 5 plates), numerous vignettes (few plates with spotting). Full contemporary dark olive straight-grain morocco, elaborately framed in alternating gilt tools, spines in 6 compartments with flat raised bands gilt, gilt-lettering in 2 compartments, others completely gilt including the first compartment with William Brodie’s crest of a dexter cubit arm in pale holding three arrows with his motto “unite”, all edges gilt, gilt dentelles (spines very gently sunned). Provenance: William Brodie of Brodie Castle in Moray (1799-1873), armorial bookplate.
