Full contemporary sheep with art nouveau embossing on upper cover of acanthus leaves, the interstitial spaces filled with gilt pointillism patterns, spine with 6 compartments and raised bands, gilt-titles in compartments, more embossed acanthus leaves in remainder surrounded by more gilt pointillism patterns, all edges gilt, BOUND BY THE HAMPSTEAD BINDERY, unsigned (light rubbing along joints, else fine). Provenance: Edmund Lister Johnson (engraved armorial bookplate dated 1902 with acanthus designs that match the binding; this binding was probably commissioned by this original owner).
